Could NBC Be Any Stupider?!

While every single major network went live to either New York or Washington to cover the moment of silence in remembrance of 9/11, NBC's The Today Show decided that in interview with Kim Kardashian's mother was more important. WTF!?

The Today Show is largely fluff anyway; but considering it was on - live - when 9/11 actually happened, you would think that if they felt a moment of silence was too dull for their action-packed show, they could have at least shown that "classic" footage. But Kim Kardashian's mother?! Come on. That's just stupid. Even Fox News paused its Obama bashing for a minute to show it.

Those Darlins Tonight @ Slowdown

The fine looking ladies of Those Darlins return to Omaha tonight to kick ass and break hearts! The band is opening for classic alt-country band, The Old 97's. I will be in the front row crushing hard to Jessi Darlin. See you there!

Lana Del Ray Abandons Being Taken Seriously...Poses Nude

As if saying, "Hey, my record did okay, but I won't be famous unless I go the full monty," pop tart Lana Del Ray has posed pretty much naked for GQ's UK edition. Not complaining. Just sayin'.

The rest of the pics can be found here.

Quote of the Day

"I have no idea. I haven't been paying attention" - Gov. Nikki Haley (R) of South Carolina, when asked if the Republican Party platform called for an outlaw of abortion without an exception for rape or incest. Haley was a prominent speaker at the Republican National Convention.

DVR Alert!!! Marc Maron on "Ferguson" Tonight

Unintentional Truth

Did the folks at the RNC not realize that they just gave away the whole store with this picture? The national debt...they did actually build that!

Bach's Greatest Role

Sebastian Bach and The Trailer Park Boys
Never was much of a Skid Row fan, but there is no way I will ever make fun of its former lead singer, Sebastian Bach. Not after his star turn in the final season of The Trailer Park Boys. And he continues to reunite with his cigarette smuggling comrades to this day. Love the photo!

Re-Cap of Alex Wagner on "Real Time"

Alex Wagner tries to restrain herself from strangling this guy
My lady, Alex Wagner, shined last Friday night on the season premier of Real Time with Bill Maher. Unlike her last appearance, where she was consistently shouted over by teabagging Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA), Alex stayed engaged with the panel throughout. Conservative columnist Reihan Salam did his able best to bogart the conversation - no matter the topic - but Alex gave as good as she got. Salam remained a robotic talking point reciter as he listed off the so-called failures of the Obama Administration, while refusing to acknowledge the Republican's sabotage of the president's jobs and economic plans, and the sometimes racist motives behind the right's actions.

The always confusing mega-billionaire Mark Cuban was the third person on the panel. He appears to be liberal in nearly all instances, except when the topic is unions. Like most wealthy people, he sees no need.

Oh, and Chelsea Handler was on, too. She didn't contribute much to the discussion, even though I basically agreed with her on most of her points.
