A study by the University of Georgia has brought to light the "shocking" truth about what your little, fuzzy buddy does at night when you are asleep. Maybe it's not shocking, per se, since every cat owner knows, on some level, that their pet has the killer instinct inside of him or her. Few have actually witnessed it, however.
The University attached tiny cameras to the collars of 60 or so pet cats, and their owners would download the footage each day and send it to the folks doing the study.
Money quote from one of the owners:
"You could see her whiskers and you could see her staring at the sky, looking at the trees…and in this particular instance…it was clear that she was under the deck of my house and had a bird. And she hadn’t ripped the bird apart yet, but it was clear that the bird was in great distress and it was very upsetting. I stopped watching because I knew what the end point was, that the bird wasn’t going to live. I was very upset with my cat."
